With so many things to do on the Cahaba River National Wildlife Refuge, the hardest part will be choosing which to do first. A real favorite along the Refuge is fishing! There are an abundant amount of species of fish along the Cahaba River and in the Refuge. That makes for a lot of great fishing opportunities!

Fishing opportunities abound in the Cahaba River. Fish species sought by local anglers include, catfish, bass, and sunfish. There are numerous access points on the river and one unimproved ramp on the Refuge suitable for small jon boats or canoes. This access is located on the right off of CR 24 just before you come to Piper bridge heading east.

All activities on the Refuge are FREE and OPEN to the public. There is no entrance fee. The Refuge is open daily from dawn to dusk year-round.
